Staying at home means avoiding the nail salon, and as someone who always smudges regular nail polish (seriously, how is it possible that they can still be ready to smear by the time I go to bed?), I have a newfound appreciation for the variety of modern manicure solutions available. I previously reviewed Ohora's at-home gel strips , which are a great option for hassle-free designs. Another option that I really like, even though I am far from a pro, is dip powder. Dip powder is essentially an acrylic powder that contains pigments or glitters. You purchase a set of liquids that can be used with the powders of your choice for a quick and clean manicure that requires very little dry time. Dip powder is easily accessible, and if you're new to dip nails in general, I'd suggest a reasonably priced option for practice. I started with the Lavender Violets brand on Amazon, which comes with a set of powders + all the liquids you need for a beginner. I did find that the l...
There are three things that can divide a room unlike anything else: politics, religion, and opinion of Brussels sprouts.
Some say they are delicious. Countless others turn up their noses. Some meet the leafy, cruciferous vegetables with a resounding "meh".
Maybe you fit into one of the above three categories. Or maybe you think Brussels are okay, but are never prepared so that they are juuust right.
Well, today is your day, my friend, because I have the perfect Brussels sprouts recipe and it is SO EASY that you will wonder why you never did it before. The best part? It takes MAYBE ten minutes max!
The key is to start with fresh vegetables. For too long I had relied on the steam-in-a-bag kind of brussels sprouts, and I am not knocking conveniently packaged foods by any means, but the fresh Brussels take it to the next level. I've been ordering my groceries from Jet.com, and the fresh Brussels come in a perfect portion for my family of three. Plus, I've been getting cash back on my orders through Ebates! Best Ever Brussels Sprouts
Ingredients
- fresh Brussels sprouts
- olive oil
- salt and pepper
- Worcestershire, soy sauce, or any other seasoning you prefer (optional)
Instructions
- Set your oven to "broil".
- Wash the Brussels sprouts and slice in half lengthwise.
- Toss in olive oil, or grease a baking sheet and drizzle with oil once the Brussels are on the pan.
- Lay all Brussels sprouts cut side down on the baking sheet. Drizzle with olive oil if you did not toss in oil already.
- Sprinkle with salt and pepper, and any other seasonings or selected sauces. Worcestershire is my favorite so far, but Old Bay or cajun seasoning would be nice as well.
- Broil for 5 minutes. You will want the sprouts to get a little crispy on the outside, but a touch softer on the inside. A slight char is perfect.
- Serve immediately.
