Staying at home means avoiding the nail salon, and as someone who always smudges regular nail polish (seriously, how is it possible that they can still be ready to smear by the time I go to bed?), I have a newfound appreciation for the variety of modern manicure solutions available. I previously reviewed Ohora's at-home gel strips , which are a great option for hassle-free designs. Another option that I really like, even though I am far from a pro, is dip powder. Dip powder is essentially an acrylic powder that contains pigments or glitters. You purchase a set of liquids that can be used with the powders of your choice for a quick and clean manicure that requires very little dry time. Dip powder is easily accessible, and if you're new to dip nails in general, I'd suggest a reasonably priced option for practice. I started with the Lavender Violets brand on Amazon, which comes with a set of powders + all the liquids you need for a beginner. I did find that the l...
The husband and I just celebrated our fifth wedding anniversary together. To commemorate the occasion, he, genius that he is, had the idea for a pizza competition. Luckily we had some gluten free personal pizza sized crusts already, and used our imaginations to put our pizza making skills to the test.
While he was a close second, we both determined that my original creation had the edge, and I took home the prize! So now I'm going to share it with you.
I made a personal sized pizza, but the I definitely had leftover ingredients. This will assume you have a regular large sized pizza crust, but you can break it up as needed. I always use gluten free ingredients for my own needs, but you can obviously very easily use the regular versions if you aren't restricted.
The gouda is optional if you just don't have it, but the prosciutto is worth springing for. Trust me.

Award Winning Garlic Parmesan Mac and Cheese Pizza
Ingredients
- 1 pizza crust, pre made
- 1 and 1/2 cup mozzarella
- 1 cup parmesan cheese, shredded
- 1/4 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1/2 box of elbow macaroni noodles
- 1-2 tbsp of panko breadcrumbs
- 1 clove of garlic or more if desired
- 1 cup milk
- 1 tsp chicken boullion
- 1-2 slices of prosciutto
- 2 tbsp sundried tomato pesto
- 1 tsbp gouda
- Olive oil
- Salt, to taste
- Preheat oven to 425 (or follow the instructions for your particular crust).
- Cook the noodles until just al dente. If using gluten free noodles, I always deduct a minute or two from the box instructions, so for the Barilla gluten free elbow macaroni noodles, I boiled them for 5 minutes in salted water. Drain and toss with a drizzle of olive oil. Set aside.
- Add the milk to a sauce pan, and heat until steaming.
- Add parmesan, cheddar, and one cup of mozzarella, stirring constantly.
- Add a dash of salt, plus the boullion, and the garlic. Stir.
- At this point, you have a creamy cheese sauce. Gently fold the noodles into it.
- Brush your crust in olive oil. Top with the tomato pesto. It should be a thin layer so adjust accordingly if needed.
- Top with a thin layer of mozzarella cheese.
- Top with a layer of the cheese and noodle mixture.
- Scatter pieces of prosciutto on top, scatter pieces of gouda, and sprinkle a thin layer of panko breadcrumbs.
- Place your pizza on a baking sheet and cook for 6 minutes or longer if your crust instructions dictate otherwise. Broil for 1-2 minutes to crisp the top.
- ENJOY because it's amazing.
